Pile Cage Foot with High Load Insert
Designed for heavier pile cages, the Cage Foot with High Load Insert (HLI) combines the standard Pile Cage Foot with a pre-installed insert to improve load distribution at the base.
Tested and rated up to 1600kg*
When used with the High Load Insert, the Cage Foot is independently compression tested and conservatively rated up to:
- 1500kg (20mm & 32mm dia rebar)
- 1600kg (40mm dia rebar)
*Load capacity varies by bar diameter and configuration. Refer to load testing summary below.
The core cage foot design remains unchanged. The HLI is recommended for heavier cages or higher point load applications.
Key Features
High Load Insert - How It Works
Integrated Load Distribution
The High Load Insert sits within the base of the Cage Foot, increasing the effective load-bearing interface between the reinforcing bar and the base plate.
By distributing point loads more evenly through the foot, the insert reduces concentrated stress at the base – particularly in heavier cage applications.
Unlike standard cage feet that rely solely on the outer shell for load transfer, the integrated insert provides an additional internal load path.
Pre-Installed for Consistency
The High Load Insert is supplied pre-installed within the 85mm Cage Foot to ensure correct positioning and consistent performance on site.
No additional components.
No on-site assembly.
No change to installation method.
The Cage Foot installs in the same way as the standard product, with the added benefit of improved load distribution where required.
When Should I use the High Load Insert?
For standard pile cage applications where higher load distribution is not required, the standard Pile Cage Foot remains suitable.
If you’re unsure whether the High Load Insert is required for your project, our team can assist with specification based on cage size and reinforcement details.

Cage Foot Extension - Requires 85mm Cage Foot with High Load Insert
| Name | Product Code | Concrete Cover | Suit Bar Size (mm) | Quantity per | |
| Bag | Pallet | ||||
| 100mm Cage Foot Extension | CFX100 | 100mm | 16-40 | 60 | 2160 |
| 150mm Cage Foot Extension | CFX150 | 150mm | 16-40 | 60 | 2160 |
Extensions are used in conjunction with the 85mm Cage Foot with High Load Insert to achieve increased concrete cover.
Where High Load Insert configurations are combined with extensions in heavier applications, load performance should be confirmed based on cage size and reinforcement details. Please contact our team for project-specific guidance.
Independent Load Testing Summary
Independent Testing – Verified up to 1600kg
Independent compression testing was carried out using different reinforcement bar diameters, with and without the High Load Insert.
Average and minimum test results are shown below for transparency. Advertised load capacities have been set conservatively based on these results.
Load Test Results
| Test Configuration | Test Average Result (kg) | Minimum Test Result (kg) | Advertised Load Capacity |
| 20mm dia rebar | 795 | 768 | 700kg |
| 20mm dia rebar with High Load Insert | 1587 | 1549 | 1500kg |
| 32mm dia rebar | 1097 | 1061 | 1000kg |
| 32mm dia rebar with High Load Insert | 1653 | 1582 | 1500kg |
| 40mm dia rebar | 1516 | 1478 | 1400kg |
| 40mm dia rebar with High Load Insert | 1718 | 1689 | 1600kg |
Advertised load capacities are based on independent testing and represent conservative values. Actual performance varies depending on bar size and configuration.
